Welcome to Six-Sentence Sunday!
In this week’s excerpt from THE WITCH’S EYE, we get a glimpse at one of the story’s villains, the vampire Lady Riven. Ronan looks on as the vampire dame issues a silent order that could doom some of his friends…
Lady Riven came down from her floating position and stood on the deck right in front of Ronan, giving him a clearer view of her lithe form and severe face. She wore a battle-dress of silver and white fur over dark studded leather armor. Steaming bladed gauntlets and spiked boots leaked shadows, and her pale skin was rune-cast and icy. Her dark hair was done tightly into braids.
She pointed a bladed fingernail at the escape pods, and at that silent command two of the vampire warships broke formation and flew at them. Ronan’s heart sank, because he knew instinctively that Cross and Maur were in one of those pods.
